Industrial Action

Hetty has been on stike now for 2 days and it is unclear whether she will return to work. She cites long hours and a dusty work environment as reason for laying down tools. The owner of the house was forced to take over today in an unusual act of defiance. Hetty was heard to whisper 'scab' under her breath. Let's hope for a return to work tomorrow.

all day long she worked...

And at the end of the day, the loft had gone from a wooden frame to a join-the-dots white wonder of a room…and Hetty smiled. She was looking forward to a shower.

Let there be light....

There was no sign of Hetty anywhere!

Not under the eaves...

And then, as if from the depths of the earth, he heard a deep, contented sigh….

Hetty was safe, sound and settled under the stairs for a nice kip. Phew. Goodnight said Hetty. Goodnight said Dylan…and then ran off to see if he could wrap himself in the big shiny blanket before the staff noticed!

Going clip clippety clop on the stairs

Is that a little mouse with clogs on?

Hetty remained silent, offering nothing but her usual impenetrable smile.

Back at playschool, the toys watched...

There's a window

And there's a door….

And some pipes…...

And something to keep out the cold wind out….mmmm- toasty said the toys.

And they all knew that the door would never be used. But nobody spoke of it.
